The Legend of Kuldhara – Why Was It Abandoned?

He desired the daughter of the village chief and threatened the villagers with dire consequences if his wishes were not fulfilled. Rather than surrender their honor, the 85 Paliwal Brahmin families of Kuldhara and neighboring villages vanished overnight, leaving their homes, wells, and temples intact — but taking their pride and mystery with them.

Legend has it, the villagers cursed the land so no one could ever inhabit it again. To this day, Kuldhara remains deserted.

Is Kuldhara Really Haunted?

The village is often listed among India’s most haunted destinations, and many visitors claim to have felt an uncanny presence. Locals avoid staying there after sunset, and paranormal investigators have reported:
